Tanning Bed: Many salons now offer tanning services. Some will have a stand up booth, while others will offer a bed that you can lay down on. A combination of the two is the best way to get a great tan.

Styling Wands and Irons: These pieces of equipment are very important to the stylist, as they can add curls, straighten curls, or a combination of both.

Facial Beds: If you would like to receive a relaxing facial, then a facial bed is needed. These beds are comfortable to lie on as the facial treatment specialist works at the end of the table and applies the necessary lotions and creams.

Massage Tables: If the salon offers this service, it’s necessary for the client to lie on his or her stomach. Therefore, a massage table will have a cutout for your face, so the massage therapist can correctly perform your massage.

Barber Chairs: Many salons also have a barber chair. It’s similar a salon chair, however, it can recline. This chair can also serve as a facial chair, if needed.

Nail Tables: These tables are specially designed so the client and the manicurist can sit across from each other. The tables are usually narrow, so the manicurist can easily reach your hands.

Hair Brushes, Combs, Picks, and Slides: Just about anything else you can think of can be used to style hair. A lot of the choices will depend upon the stylist’s preference for hair styling equipment.

It’s easy to see that there are a lot of different types of salon equipment today. While not all salons will have each piece of equipment, there are some that will have of these and more.
